Water Quality Services
SWCD has the resources to provide
technical assistance in water quality matters to homeowners, municipalities, and
other County agencies.
Assistance to Homeowners
- SWCD can help interpret results of water testing, provide homeowners with
technical guidance on problems such as streambank erosion, drainage around the
home, soils suitability, etc.
Technical Assistance to Towns and other
Community Organizations - SWCD can provide assistance
for broad or complex water quality issues. These include erosion and sediment
control, wellhead protection, water quality testing, drainage and storm water
management, streambank/roadbank stabilization and hydroseeding. We also provide
assistance with grant writing.
Water Resources Information-
SWCD has an extensive library of water-related text books, journals, and
reports. Numerous brochures and other literature are provided to help Cortland
County residents understand and protect their water resources.
